Anyone use this, or a similar handheld "dynometer?" Any thoughts on the accuracy of such a thing? Obviously what it does is utilize the iDevice's gyrometers and accelerometers to translate your vehicle's motion into performance statistics.
I've only run a couple of quarter miles, because I don't really have anywhere safe to do it. But it tells me my peak horsepower is 285. My only mods are a K&N filter in the stock airbox and a Sebring exhaust. Does this seem plausible? It even allows you to input drivetrain loss so that you're not calculating WHP. Another fun feature it has is a skidpad, which calculates the g forces of your accelerating, braking, and lateral maneuvers. Kind of a fun little toy, but I was curious to see what the real motorheads would have to say about its accuracy. I think this app ran me like $12.99 and, if nothing else, it is entertaining.
