The two 6mm threaded holes in the front door window sash (the triangular piece that the outside rear view mirror attached to) eventually got stripped out due to the numerous times the bolts were removed an obviously over-torqued.
Instead of doing the Heli-Coil deal or drilling and tapping to the next larger size bolt, I decided to use that Permatex epoxy thread repair stuff I had laying around in the garage. Following the instructions, I applied the release agent to the bolt threads (I used longer bolts than the actual ones), mixed and filled the stripped holes with the epoxy, threaded in the bolts and waited the 30 minutes for the epoxy to cure. You can probably guess what happened. The release agent didn't and now I have two freaking bolts epoxied into the sash. ![]() I don't have a drill press or milling machine to get the bolts out so I'm hoping the sash is still available from the dealer or bone yard.
