I finally gave Acura a call and had them check to see if there were any open recalls on my car hoping they would tell me the stereo amp had been replaced. All she told me that there were no bulletins for the car. I'm not sure if that means the car had all it's recalls taken care of or if it just means the all the recall periods have ended. You know what they say, if you want to get anything done, you have to do it yourself.
I can figure out how to get the back seat out. My question is what should I look for on or in the amp to gauge it's propensity to burst into flames? Is there a simple way to tell an original amp from a recall replaced amp? Should I be inspecting the circuits and caps? I don't really know anything about amps other than I have them and they amplify... The help is much appreciated. There are too many legends spontaneously combusting these days.
