Unhappy Baseball Fan Death

Anyone watched last night baseball game Texas Rangers vs. Oakland A's? Apparently a Ranger fan died last night trying to catch a ball where he was sitting at, which is where the scoreboard is. He leaned over too far to catch the ball and fell about 20 feet to his death. What's even worse, his little son saw the whole tragic happen right in front of his eyes. May that person RIP .

Here's the vid if you haven't seen it: http://www.cnn.com/2011/SPORT/07/07/...rs.game.death/

Yeah it's all blown up in the media now. That's what can happen if you aren't careful at any sporting event where you are in the front row of a section where there is a long fall below. I'm extremely sad that his son had to see that. But in the end, it was an accident. It wasn't anybody's fault.

Surprised there was no net or chain link there for that very reason...

Totally feel for the little boy

If you watch the actual video, I can only imagine how that old guy that was standing next to him must have felt....you see him just freeze and watch the poor dude after he fell...

It definitely was sad, Like posted above there should have been a net or something to catch his fall. This wasnt the first time this has happen. They said it was almost the anniversary of another firefighter that had fell, only neck and arm injuries but its more then enough to get something built for protection.

Pretty sad - I feel sorry for the boy and his family, and also for Josh Hamilton. They had the rails inspected by state and feds, and they exceeded the recommended standards. However, the guy was taller than average, so it was a matter of physics once he leaned over the top rail. It shouldn't be too difficult to put another rail that's in the direction of the field. It wouldn't block the view of the fans, yet it would provide another bar to catch any unfortunate fan.
