The $900 95 sedan i got from craigslist. Think I can turn a profit on it?

I checked the diff on the car and it was pretty much dry. So i filled it up and took it for another "test" drive at 3:30am.. I got about 75 yards before the axles locked and the car came to a grinding stop in the middle of the road. So i get out to push it to the side, and both axles are locked in every gear. Car slides at an angle for a while, eventually into someones yard. I get out and check it again, and the axles had broken free from whatever was binding them. I was then able to actually drive it the 75 yards back home again, park it, run back up to my black car, grab it and drive it home, then hide out inside

guess its time for a new diff.

This sounds like something that would happen to me! Glad you got it home without incident. Yeah def change that diff asap. Doesnt surprise me that it was dry, thats probably what did the diff in to begin with. Easy repair, once the diff is swapped out it should be good to go.
