i'm no compressor expert as to which brands are superior than others, esp. when it comes to Reman's. BUT Rock Auto usually has reputable brands for good prices. not sure if you're looking for one with the clutch or w/o it, but they have ones in the price range of $240 to $312 which are good prices for a G2 Legend compressor. OEM denso is $480+
I would shop around at local places first just to see what prices are like (b/c I don't like to pay or wait for shipping unless I'm really gonna save money) |

I'm in the same boat, and I'm determined to have A/C this summer after last year's 100-degree temps here in the Seattle area. DrDave directed me to buyautoparts.com. He mentioned that they have a very low return rate on their compressors, and the price is pretty good at $345. He's been running his compressor for 3 years without issues:

Go ebay if you want cheap. At this price, probably disposable... LOL.

Unless someone replies back with a reputable eBay seller's name, I'd steer clear of buying a compressor on eBay. I'd hate to have to evacuate the system to send the compressor back to the seller if it were to die, not to mention the fact that you have a 92 LS which uses R-12 freon; that stuff is not cheap.

I blame the M3.

Given the pain and expense involved here, I don't think you should shy too much at a costly compressor if there's reasonable assumption if will last.
The expense of replacing a faulty unit is enough that a well built unit easily pays for itself.
