Default How to amber out your lenses

DIY: How to Amber Out Your Lenses

Items needed:
Krylon Stained Glass Window Spray Paint (amber)

Masking tape (i like the blue)

Windex & papertowels

Step 1:

Remove lenses/lights from car and clean everything that you plan on painting. I used windex and it worked fine.

Step 2:

Tape off the areas you DO NOT want to get paint/overspray on.

Step 3:

Apply first coat of paint. Make sure you evenly spray the entire surface. Do not let it drip and do not put it on too thick. Just enough so that it covers smoothly.

Step 4:

Let dry in the hot sun for 10 minutes OR bake in the oven at 150 degrees farenheight for 5-7minutes.

Step 5:

Repeat steps 3 and 4 untill you achieve the desired darkness of the amber color. I did 4 coats.

Step 6:

Let dry for 10-12 hours before re-installing. If it is at all tacky bugs end up sticking to it when you drive and it fks it up a little. Plus you dont want to install it and risk fking it up somehow so just let the mofo dry.

Step 7:

Enjoy your new look and feel as pimp as Mondi

I still need to do one more coat on the reverse lense section to better match the rest of the amber. It looks pretty good in person but its not perfect yet.
