I'm probably going to end up getting a DA; it's for personal use, so speed isn't an issue, and I don't want to risk burning the paint (though it's still possible). If the paint I'm dealing with is that bad I may just have to take it to a pro, but I don't think I have anything that bad to deal with.

What does burned paint look like?

Kinda of like clear coat faded paint. It'll have a white hazy appearance. Sometimes it will just look like fine scratching. All depends how bad it was burned...

Just courious Joey, as I've seen you mention this brand a few times. What is it you like so much about the surbuf pads?

They are a defect killer. Because the pad has micro fingers that can kinda sweep into scratches it works fantastically. You use no pressure, let the buffer spin at speed like 4.5-5, let product flash then rewet, and continue that process. Also leaves no oily fillers because you are using water as polishing lube, unlike alot of other products.

Granted the process is slightly more invovled than what im stating, it just works awesome.
