Kinda of like clear coat faded paint. It'll have a white hazy appearance. Sometimes it will just look like fine scratching. All depends how bad it was burned...

The picture posted above is a 335i wetsanded with 2000 grit paper followed by meguiars m105+ and meguiars d300 with a surbuf buffing pad on a griots 6 in polisher

They are a defect killer. Because the pad has micro fingers that can kinda sweep into scratches it works fantastically. You use no pressure, let the buffer spin at speed like 4.5-5, let product flash then rewet, and continue that process. Also leaves no oily fillers because you are using water as polishing lube, unlike alot of other products.

Granted the process is slightly more invovled than what im stating, it just works awesome.
