Default Performance Brake Kits

Are there any recommended performance brake kits that are upgrades to the stock brake system?

Off the shelf, not really. Wilwood used to make a kit, I don't know if they still do. You can piece together a 'mini RL bbk'.....search it. Or you can piece together a bbk that KA Racing made brackets for, but you will have to find someone selling their brackets bc KA Racing doesn't sell them anymore I don't think. Look at the thread like 3 below this one for KA Racing bbk info.

UPDATE: Wilwood still has a kit available for purchase through Fast Brakes.
"Brian H" from fast brakes did Ludacris's brake kit and he is someone I've been speaking with as of late. I'm working on going a little bigger on the rotor size, but this is probably the best option available without going custom.

EDIT (August 6, 2023) - Last week I received my 13" 2-piece rear rotor set with willwood 4 piston calipers. This is a full set plug-n-play, all parts included and available for purchase as a "kit". I'm waiting on my order for my front brakes as I'm going either 14", 14.5" or 15" in the fronts. I'll post again when I have another update.

UPDATE #2
Both the front and rear kits are installed on the 95 coupe. I will say this... My brakes are amazing, however there is a huge BUT!

Now, I'm NOT discouraging anyone from getting the Wilwood kit, but it's extremely overpriced. Read below for why.

Cost of Font 6 Piston 14" = $2,642.00 (parts only)
Cost of Rear 4 piston 13.5" = $2,375.00 (parts only)

Now for install... which normally is about a 3 hour job but this took much longer. The quality of the brackets were not up to par for what I thought Wilwood offered. They were not machined well at all and I had to have my mechanic run them to a machine shop and pay an additional $200 to make them fit square and centered. Additionally, there was some shaving 2-3mm of the rear LCA. It's possible that due to the large size brakes I ordered, the FastBrakes kits may have been mocked up with slightly smaller brakes.

In the end, I'm happy now that they are on the car and installed correctly. The braking is amazing. The new Legend brakes remind me of my F80 M3. Good pedal feel, sharp bite and no brake fade. This is 1000% improvement over the OEM Type II.

This part since we have the same rear kit. The kit I have came with 2 washers per rear rotor to level the caliper on the rotor. We originally installed the calipers without the washer then noticed it and were like ooo those served a purpose. bam no issues. as for the LCA nothing was trimmed for me.

I honestly feel that Wilwood's quality has gone down.

Specifically, on the rear lower arm B that extra/excess metal stamped around the stabilizer link. I plan on manufacturing some new parts for the suspension anyway. This just give me the opportunity now to do so and improve the overall design.

With today's inflation the pricing is on point. Any kit that can work or made to work is $2000+.

I helped the owner of Mr. Keith's old coupe rebuild that kit. Just the rotors were close to $1000 for 4. If I built a kit...it was on par with what you can buy..expect a full kit. So I could be saving people $1000 I guess and you get to use the legend ebrake still.
