Here is a 1980 Mercedes 240D. I guess it can be considered a classic. It has a 2.4 liter Diesel inline 4 engine with the 4 speed auto. This thing is CLEAN for its age! Only 160K miles. I know the older members on this forum will really appreciate a car like this.
Enjoy the pics! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I kinda agree. The color isn't the best but you can always have it repainted. Its called golden brown. I would rather have blue or white.
Guess how much power it has. |

I think the color is perfect. You have to remember that it was a popular color at the time, it helps date the car. Kind of period correct I guess. To each his own though.
It's rare to see this body style in such good shape. Very nice. Love the sunroof. |

The value of those are going up because they are perfect for running BioDiesel. I almost picked up one of these for that purpose. That car is clean...show quality clean.

My first car, was a 77 240D. My parents bought it the year I was born(80') so it was destined to be mine at 17. It was a manual, Peachish in color. well kept by my dad and I. Slow as hell, but nice. I spent several thousand to update its look, paint and sound system. I was involved in a chain accident in 99' that led me to by my Legend. I wanted to sell the MB for the Legend before the accident, so I guess destiny struck twice for me. My parents still have the MB, sitting, waiting for a day someone can straighten it up. Original 145k engine.

Biodiesel doesn't contain the additives and lubricants in regular diesel and slowly leads to the destruction of an engine that can and will last literally millions of miles.
these old Benz's are bulletproof. Expensive as hell to fix, the reason why I don't have one anymore. |

Yeah that's why we are going to keep running it on regular Diesel. They are really bullet prof. The w123s are great cars. The parts aren't too expensive depending on what it is.
