Default WIDE wheels and WIDE tires

Whose running some serious rims and tires?

I'm looking for a new setup, since I gain zero traction with my current wheels. I'm looking at running maybe enkei rpf1's 18x10 +38 (or 9.5 +45) and I'd like to stick some 275/40 (or 255/40) series drag radials. I dont like stretching tires because stretching tires + trying get traction is a bad idea.

so I know bayareasfinest ran those wheels but I dont think he was that wide. So whose put wide wheels and didn't have it stick out and make it look like ass?

trying to stay on 18's but i'll step to 17's if I have to. But since my slicks are on 16's I'd like to have 18's for cruising.

haha dude your gonna have to do some new wide front fenders to ever get traction, and maybe some heavy ass lead ballasts right behind the bumper blinkers on each side still, even then... that torque is ridiculous son

From Oxer's thread in 2012:

Anyone have any idea of how a 17x9+45 will fit?

Currently have 17x8+45s but want to go to something aftermarket and a little wider. Not worried about fender clearance but I am worried about clearing the rear strut.

17x9.5 +45. Currently have 235/45s on them but will swap over the 225/40s from my TL rims I think.

And yes Ksports are part of the plan lol. Needs more low.
