G1 Timing Belt DIY request
The last time the timing belt was changed on my 90L was around 2000/01 so its getting to that time to do it again. I called the dealer for a quote and they say it's going to cost around $1100 to replace. Other shops gave me an estimate of around $850. That's way too much for just a 5 hour job so I'm thinking I should learn how to do it myself. The only problem is that I'm afraid I'll mess up the timing and kill the engine.
Has anyone out there put together a DIY for this legend. I found one for the G2 but nothing with pictures for the G1. Thanks |

Check the online manual.I just recently delt with BHG (blown head gaskets) and there is a section there that will explain T-belt replacement.

got mine done by my indy, $450 out the door, that including parts. keep shopping around, smaller shops are going to be cheaper than a "named" place.
of course, if you're feeling up to it, do it yourself and I'm sure someone with some expertise in doing it will chime in. |

Stephen had some really good photos linked to his photobucket account on the old site - I don't think they ever made it over here. I believe he posted a couple of times on .org, but I'm not sure he comes around anymore since his coupe got smashed again - apparently for good this time...
