Post OMG Greek does something else besides postwhore?!?!

Yeah I guess finally its time to start swapping my 3.5 monster in. In short this engines got everything out there changed and built up EXCEPT pistons and rods EVERY little nut bolt etc was changed and rebuilt from the block up.

Some highlights...

180amp alternator
Fully ported/polished/built type 2 heads
stock 2002 RL block
ALL dealer gaskets/belts/water pump
Fully powdercoated engine bay
Honda s2k RHD electric steering rack
Custom radiator/fan setup
Tucking/deleting alot of the engine bay
Rewiring the front of the car

Now some not so highlights...
doing the swap on gravel under a car port and it is VERY ghetto setup but working so far so thats good

I can only work on this 2-3 days a week for a about 4 hours a day at most so progress might be "slow" cause mostly I work alone doing this.

The plan is to do a entire subframe drop so we have a whole assembly to work with and will make it easier in the end to reinstall...so I plan.

good luck mate. I did a few motor swaps on previous cars, when I used to live out in tha country, gravel, and star thistle providing absolutely no comfort under the car... it definitely builds character.

Grab a big piece of plywood from Home Depot and drape either an old blanket or even the trunk floor lining over it...makes a huge diference in comfort when you're under the car man...

Gabe I don't know if you seen all the pics but heres basically the "lay out"

its b2 sized gravel all level
then thick blue tape (make sure no moisture rots anything)
then 2 sheets of 1/4 plywood for the rear half of the car
1/2 sheet of plywood under the front half

and now added yesterday 2x2 sidewalk steps cause the jackstands would bust through the wood and boards we had. but the rest is uncomfortable no matter what.

I finally beat u to something

only bad part is my dad was over today and we we're cutting off the front end of the other car and then went to pull my cv axles. seems the passenger side nut was seized or something and NEEDED the torch to cut it off...which left the nut coming off and my real brembo rotor getting some cuts in it

but still moving along pouring now so waiting for it to slow down then gonna pull some more stuff

thanks ferji

all i can say is today the legend won that battle me and my buddy got WORKED!

between all the family and other car issues today (non legend) we took awhile to get what we did get done.

right now as is sits autoshifter linkage is in PIECES (LOL), calipers are off and hung, heater hoses cut and removed, ABS sensors removed.

So sounds decent right? WRONG its about 1030pm and we're about to pull the engine, pull the hoist in bolt it up and see a problem out chain won't fit the hoist..damn it everything was closed and we just got screwed. So now I can't touch it till monday where it WILL be dropped.

Expect a update around then cause everything is done and ready to unbolt and according to sr5guy we aren't far at all from dropping it, even tho he thinks I didn't listen to his advice
