Default I have a question...i need that professional answer

i want to lower my car but if i put some 18in wheels on it then it will lifted up about 3in or a little bit more. so i want to lower it but i dont want to lose the comfort of what the factory spring/shocks give me. but i want that smooth ride when i lower it down. what would be the best option of shock/stur/spring to give me the lower look but the comfort ride from a factor stru/shock/spring.

That's a tough question to answer. with a bigger rim and smaller tire, you will lose ride quality right off the bat even with stock suspension. What you would essentially have to do is go with a softer spring with longer travel which you can't possibly do because you are lowering the car.

To answer your question, you can't have the same ride quality after you do those things, but with eibach springs, and koni struts, people have said to have come close. I actually have yet to try it even though I've had the parts for some time. Good luck.

this is really in the wrong section being the G4 gallery...

perhaps if it was in the right one the question would get more posts on the topic relevant to your question

edit: mod?

i have just slightly oversized tires on my 18's, helps improve my ride quality, i ran 225/45's on my 18's

maybe its a little early but only reason it would be 3"higher from putting 18's if you ran like a 225/55 or 60 profile tire.

ride quality lowered down, and ride quality from a smaller tire are two different things to consider, i personally don't think you would notice the difference, 225/45/18 are stock tire sizes on some cars as well. meanwhile the drive quality when you change the suspension ie stiffer shocks, and springs, you notice a HUGE change.

if ALL you want is your CAR to sit lower to the ground just for the effect of looking lower to the ground, you need a body/lip kit for that effect.

eitherway, i agree with the above post, in the end, any time you make these types of modification there's some kinda of trade off you will have to be making.

Looks like he already has a ground effect kit from his pic???

+1. The wheel/tire package and Suspension set up you choose will pretty much compliment your driving style and road conditions.

I have pretty new Koni (non adjus) and H&R springs... 18" with 215 40's and if the roads arent new it rides like shit. lol

Most of us sacrifice the stock smooth ride of the legend for the overall look of the car.

The car drop looks FANTASTIC Reginald! Oh and the Konis ride nice and smooth! The 3.5 and Stromung make me jealous but I'll be catching up soon! Time to choose carefully the perfect rim and tire package and you'll be set!
