Driver's side lower ball joint squeak got louder, so I spent yesterday replacing it. The axle was seized in the hub. After spending a couple hours trying to remove the axle, I rented the OEM 27037 axle puller from Autozone; three loud pops later and it was out.

I thought changing the ball joints on the Legend was challenging because of the angle created by the knuckle for using a ball joint press (OEM 27023)...the RL was worse. I ended up grinding off the ball joint stud and hitting the remnant with a 3lb. sledge hammer to get the removal started. An air hammer finished the removal. I was able to use the press in combination with the cap from the Honda adapter kit (OEM 27164) to press in the new ball joint most of the way then I beat on the top of the ball joint with a 2lb brass hammer to fully seat it. Not fun, but the junk car sounding squeak is gone.
