Default GS Wheel Tire Size

So I'm about to buy a set of GS wheels for my legend and I need to pick a tire size. Pepboys website calls for a 215/55R/16 tire size, but wanted to see what size others have used.

I wanted something a bit wider tire than stock, how wide can I go?

My GS was wearing 225/55/16 when I bought it and they looked fine. I've heard of people running 235/50/16 but haven't eyeballed one yet.

IIRC convention would be 215/55/16 => 225/50/16 => 235/45/16 but I'm not totally versed in exactly how to keep your odo/speedo close as possible.

You can use a calculator like this one to see the differences. Looks like the 235/50-16 would be almost the same so far as overall revs per mile

This is the only rear shot I have, I just checked and they are 225/50-16. (I put them on my stationary coupe)

Here is the day I swapped them with my coupe tires/wheels: 225/50-16 still on the GS in this pic:

haha, nice lift you have there. I need one of those bad!

I think I'll roll with the 225/50-16s.

I was gonna highly suggest 225/50/16s as well King. Good choice. I had that size on the rims I had before my newest ones, and it gave the car a better overall look and stance even. Good choice. Speedo, I think was 1 mph off iirc.

Jonathan Hughes on FB has those very size tires and my old rims on his now if you didn't already know.

Found a set of reconditioned GS wheels on eBay that I think I'm gonna snag along with some new rubber. I think those will set my car off. May get a set of coilovers as well.

225/50/16 they also handle better. Oh and will give more cushion to prevent curb rash
