throttle body boring
Gents,
I was wondering what would be the recommended "boring out" of a type II throttle body, inner and outer bore? And is it advisable to have the neck of the intake manifold bored out as well, and if so to what size? Looking into having a local auto machine shop do the work for me. I know some of you have had this done, so looking for some guidance. thanks |

To answer your second question, yes. It should be bored to at least match your inner bore size

Even with over boring the throttle body and neck, you still have restriction in the intake manifold and heads, without addressing those as well, you're basically wasting money. Plus without opening up the exhaust side to help pull clean air into the cylinders, it won't yield much gain at all. You'll basically create a bottle neck at the intake runner and your fuel compensation values (long term and short term fuel trims) won't be able to adjust correctly.
