What's everyone's favorite plastic/black restorer? After coming up on Meguiars new 'Ultimate' Black Plastic Restorer, I was googling and reading some reviews when I came up on a mention of Tuf Shine Black Restore. The company claims it is a Permanent restoration of black auto plastics (while some have mentioned it last months. The Autogeek reviews look Pretty damn promising. Anyone used it? The black Plastic below the bumper on my SE is looking pretty terrible and I'm considering it since Mothers Back to Black just doesn't last.

I prefer lexol. i would stay away from anything solvent based. it short term works the best but its a harsh formula (health too).

Hmm, I've never tried Lexol but according to their site they don't really offer a plastic 'restorer' but a basic protectant which is just a dressing with protectant qualities. I was interested in the Tuf-Shind Restorer because its permanent and meant to restore completely (and don't believe it contains solvents).

I also use Mothers Back to Black, it doesn't last very long but is easy to apply. I wish it was thicker, though. It's like water and I always spill some when I'm trying to get it on a rag.

Check Griot's Garage. They make this bumper and trim reconditioner that is actually pretty good. Someone used to make a dye that came in a applicator that looked like shoe polish but I can't remember who that was. Back to Black is pretty good, too.
