Default 1996 Acura TL with 3.5 Swap FOR SALE

All,

I am putting up for sale my 1996 Acura TL that I did a 3.5 swap on a couple of years ago. This car was my wife's daily driver and then I ended up getting her something else so I am going to unload it. Since doing the swap it's been running just great. I put in a low mileage 2000 3.5, a new rebuilt rack and I also replaced the differential.

Please message me if interested and I can send over some pictures. I need to take some yet and I can post them along with this.

Thanks!

There's a guy down the street from me that has done a few TL 3.5 swaps in the past few years and flipped the cars. I haven't ventured onto his property, just seen the product being rolled in a couple times.

I would think it would be similar to our swap as long as you use all the original 3.2TL parts.

Pretty cool. Just thinking they would probably be a bit quicker than a legend as I imagine they are lighter? My folks had a 96 2.5TL and it felt lighter than a legend.

Good point, and I wonder if the TL trans held lower rpm at highway speeds. That is a huge negative for my GS slushboxes... really bad highway mileage.

It gets up there when I lay into it. Unfortunately it's auto because my wife hasn't learned manual yet and wouldn't let me do that conversion but I definitely would have wanted to swap in a nice 6 speed trans from a Legend.

For the 3.5 swap I followed the instructions in a couple of threads I found out there and it was really easy. I did reuse most all of the 3.2 parts like the alternator, hard vacuum lines, ECU and differential. It doesn't have any check engine codes and passes PA inspection with flying colors.

I will see if I get get some pics posted in the next couple of days.

Petty sure the TL has a higher final drive and eeked out slightly better mileage

I guess I'm used to the mileage that I get out of my Integra because I can really only squeeze about 275 or so maximum out of a tank in the TL and it's disappointing. But then again, it's a heavier car with a 6 cylinder engine in comparison to a lighter, 4 banger like an Integra. One thing I never understood about the TL is that it's a bigger, heavier car than the Integra and probably than a Legend but they only put like a 14 gallon tank in it...why couldn't they equip it with a bigger tank? I had a 99 Max, about the same class as the TL and that had a 17 gallon tank.

Ok, I was trying to upload pics but it kept saying it was over the quota limit. I have uploaded some to an album I created. Hopefully you can find it here:
