Griot's Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner
I've used Griot's Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner a few times now on my 20-spokers, and I've been impressed with the results. Since the 20-spokers have a lot of nooks and crannies, I used a wheel brush to help with the cleanup. The cleaner really did most of the work:

looks great, I sold my 20-spokers as fast as I could because I despised cleaning them

Looks great! I dealt with 16 spokes forever before I switched to GS wheels. I often ignored the spokes but when it came time to clean, it took longer to clean the wheels than the paint. Even GS wheels take a while to clean; I couldn't imagine going back to 16 spokes. 20 spokes sound even more brutal.

Get yourself a swissvax boars hair wheel brush. A little expensive, but it helps out pretty well.
The griots heavy duty wheel cleaner actually has the same active ingredient as IronX, Sonax Full effect, and I believe Wolfs Wheel Decon Gel.

nice, I'll look into it in the spring. G1 wheels are a pita to clean. Do you use a wheel sealant/wax to keep them looking clean longer?

You can use a sealant on the wheels to make them repel better, but the thing I like to use most is made by zaino. Its their All in One polish/sealant. Shines the wheel but also makes it shinier with the polish.
Meguiars also now makes a brake dust repellent and i hear its better than the armor all version.
