-X-'s 2006 Acura RL

As some may know I purchased a 2006 Acura RL Advanced package during this summer and it has been a great vehicle to me. Purchased it with 98,000 miles and after 4-5 months all I've done maintenance wise, is 2 oil changes and an alternator replacement, it does need new motor mounts though. Excellent vehicle otherwise, this will be my update thread since it really isn't a build. I have been modifying it little by little so I think its time I share a bit even though I really haven't been taking pictures of it.

When I first saw it


not even a hundred miles later and I HAD to remove those God awful OEM Michelin Run Flats with A-Specs from The Tick (Dale, thank you!), which he purchased by mistake, thinking they were the 5x114.3 bolt pattern lol I then wrapped them in AS970 Bridgestones and the car turns into a different type of machine! Really felt like an AWD car.

I then went OEM Accessory crazy, purchased the Trunk Cargo Tray, Cargo Net, Splash Guards, first Aid Kit and all weather floor mats and optional Wood knob, as you can see from the following pic it's slightly different than the TL/MDX wood knob


I will try and post pictures of the other accessories, it's so nice to have things still available for purchase lol

I then took a trip over to CT at Matt's shop and decided to install the Dice Mediabridge and upgrade the inner of the center armrest to that of the mid-model change 09+ since I really wanted AUX and USB music input.

had to purchase all these parts



Didn't have to use the USB one pictured since it was unnecessary so I returned it. After everything, it all looked like I wanted it to look, OEM, instead of aftermarket wires hanging everywhere and now with Bluetooth streaming!! With the help of Matt I was able to install the OEM Aux 5 pin and do a little modification with headphones to wire to the Mediabridge. Thanks Ze DOC!

After, nice and organized like OEM (09-12) =)


I have since then purchased the Mugen Visors, Mugen Lip Kit, Mugen Spoiler, TEIN Coilovers with EDFC, which controls the dampening from Hard to Soft from the cabin.

She will get a deserving photo-shoot soon, I just been all over the place with these cars, thanks for watching. I am trying to install the mugen kit and coilovers during the winter and get some special rims . I installed brand new cross-drilled R1 concept Rotors and EBC red brake pads in the front and the car stops immediately. RL Big brakes got me spoiled compared to legend brakes lol I guess i need to take pictures of that too. I don't know if I'm forgetting anything else but I will update this thread as more comes along. I must also say, this car still has a LEGEND feel to it.

Very nice, X. I am trying to convince the lady to get a similar vehicle sometime next year when she purchases one (AWD is a prerequisite). Not that I'd be doing anything to the car. Y'know... like Mugen parts.

yea man, I still need to catch up to you though. How come u have everything I want, I need to find out where u live lolol. I will have a NSX eventually though

Same here! Not sure how I missed this, but that's a very nice KB1, and of course very tasteful mods as always. Love the Mugen bits and EDFC, and great work on the MediaBridge! I know I'm preaching to the choir, but needs at least springs/drop plus exhaust.

Looking forward to that photoshoot! Any plans to swap to full Honda badging (including airbag cover and JDM shifter assembly)?

I'm waiting on making a decision on the exhaust, I want to do the mugen exhaust but its $2,500 bucks!!! might do the 5zigen fireball but that'll be after I install the kit. The drop is gonna come with the Tein coilovers. I'm not gonna do the Honda Badging. It would be too expensive and I'm not keeping this one long term.

yea its one of my fave mods, I am trying to get the matching wood steering wheel eventually, its my last accessory mod to get but I've been holding on getting one at the right price.

Nice mah boy picked up a 05 last week after he totaled his 04, very classy looking, juz wished it had more top end but it handles great, I kno this will be mugen out before we kno it, enjoy I kno once you get the legend back you'll have a lot of " what should i drive moments"
