Black Navi Screen

I purchased an 05 Acura RL with only 95k on the car. Its been running perfectly for the last 9 months and just last week the navigation screen went black. No warning or indication. It was working throughout the day and that night when I started the car the screen was just black. I seen the black light is still working but no video display. My radio still works and the air conditioning unit I can turn on, but the display for any video or navigation is gone. I see some small white dots here and there so im not sure if its the actual navigation unit or the screen is shot. Has anyone else had this problem? Where should I start with trying to find out the culprit? Thanks in advance for any help
