Default Got nasty looking seat belts?

If you've got light colored seat belts, they get really nasty looking over time.
Even if they are black, they are probably really dirty, you just can't see it.
Here's a quick way to get them looking like new again:

1. Hold them out with a clothes pin.

2. Soak belt in a mixture of 1/2 cup Simple Green and hot water.

3. Brush both sides really thouroughly. I used an oil drain pan under the bucket.

4. Let them soak some more.

5. Scrub both side again. I used towels to keep the brush spray off of seats and carpet.

6. Here's how nasty looking the cleaning solution was afterwards.

7. Rinse in clean hot water.

8. Dry belts completely before letting them retract.

Entire job was only about 2 hours and most of that was letting them soak. Actual work time was only about a 1/2 hour and the only expense was 1 cup of Simple Green.

Very nice DIY! Ive done this the same way before, but I have used several different soapy solutions. The 2 that seemed to work the best for me were Mr Clean all purpose cleaner or 1 cup of liquid laundry detergent. I havent tried Simple Green yet, but I have used it on carpet cleaning before, and that stuff works well.
