Default Steering column issue

hey I have a question- my steering column stopped going up and down, it will only go in and out. the problem is it is stuck up real high, and that sucks.
Anybody have this prob before?

sometimes u can pull the fuse and it'll start working again, sometimes it'll stop after a little bit again. mine was doing this then finally quit working all together.

The RL's had a problem with the small electric motors fail. I've heard of this on some forums...

the plastic gear that turns the motor for it is most likely broken. honda and their damn plastic!! if this is the case you can adjust it with a flathead screw driver to atleast get it back to the postion were you normally drive. there is no part available to fix this. honda only sells the entire steering column. check the list price on #3.

same with the jdm folding mirror motors. small worn out plastic gearings.

well, thankfully, it came on the other day and moved, so I think it is the switch or a short or something.

You can count the plastic pulley in the window regulators as another poor design choice. I had heard of the steering wheel motor problem before and tried to remove the motors from my RL before it went to the crusher but they were buried in the guts of the steering column....
