Whoa! That's a lot of attendees already registered. The committee is going to have to step up the game on the planning side of things to make future years accommodate closer to 100 rather than 50 . I hadn't even reached the deciding point yet myself. Looks like I'll likely be busy with a commitment All of August but I won't know for another couple weeks for sure. Looks like fun! I'll have to catch you guys another year!

If I'm not busy in August, I might do a East coast road trip through Canada of which I could drop in on dealer Day, etc. will see

I guess I can no longer attend this meet since it’s closed. Maybe I’ll just go to dealer day.

I might be stating the obvious, but there's a reason that the registration is capped at 45-50. All the venues have a limit on the number of people that they can hold. I can only think of 1 venue in the past 5 NALMs that could hold 100 people in a dedicated area. Any sort of dining option for over 60 people at once would probably require a catered event which would be SUPER expensive.
NSXpo does events for 300 or so, but they are in big cities in huge venues and their registration fee is about 4x what a NALM would be. I thought it was pretty obvious that it'd fill up to capacity when there was only 6 spots left after only 2 weeks(?) Anyway. After looking at the registration list for this year I'm super excited since I don't think I've met more than 1/2 of the attendees! See y'all in a little over 4 months!

Good Morning -
NALM registered attendees you received a 'Welcome' email on 4/24 with early event details. Please check your inbox. We are sharing the Saturday event details for those that could like to join us for the open portion of NALM: The Acura Dealership located in Burlington, VT has determined that they cannot support our group size. They do not have the space or staffing to accommodate our group. While we hoped that our on-going communications with the dealership leadership would sway their decision, ultimately we respect their determination. Not every dealership has the ability to join in on the fun. Instead, we have partnered with the City of Burlington to host a Cars and Coffee event at Veteran's Memorial Park (1000 Dorset St, South Burlington, VT 05403). This is one of the premier parks in the city and we are very thankful to the City of Burlington to allow us the space to use for a public event. We have partnered with the local Cars and Coffee group and local event coordinators to spread the word through the community.

Point I was making it Will need to change in the future by the looks of it. There's more than enough people on the planning committee to make it happen with enough time and dedication given. Yes, the biggest hurdle will be planning food venues, but that doesn't have to be a necessity to the event either. It's a nice feature to have, Don't get me wrong on that one. Considering a lot of traditional stuff has been omitted in particular this year's event because of the aforementioned No dealership location. I understand the cars are getting older and harder to find parts for with there not being a lot of support compared to the classic car scene or certain JDM platforms having better support. One thing I've been curious about is why has there been no track related events like there used to be? I understand the average age of enthusiast s is increasing, however that doesn't mean that has to disappear either. If it were to involve the Legends themselves that would be great, m also would just be nice to have some kind of event like that that everybody participates in watching. In particular, having like a drag strip day would be just fun for the kicks of it. Would give a good opportunity for folks to prove their upgrades effective etc. I'm not sure if I'm the only one that feels this way, but it feels a little too same old same old exclusive ish Vibe.it's nice to see familiar faces and it's good that a lot of members are coming this year that aren't well known to many. Just trying to brainstorm ideas to make it easier to attract different demographics within the legend community. But hey what do I know? I live in a different country haha. |

I'm not picking on the nalm committee etc I think this year just theres alot of plus ones that threw off how it should go. Can't fault people for bringing their girlfriend/wives/mail order brides to a legend event. But lately is has seemed to have gotten more "talking in a parking lot for hours" kinda meet. I've been to nalms with big race tracks, drag racing and even dynos. all are a fun thing to add for sure if the city allows them. For instance I can provide all sorts of racing from drag/drift/oval/autox in my city, plenty of places to house 100+ people for food.. but will things be 'scentic' enough for those who want to cruise around and take pictures? ehh not really unless were driving 60+ mins one way to do it. It typically has to have a balance of all things to make everyone feel included. That said would I attend and beat on my car for a week at multiple events then want to drive it a long distance home? nah too much risk of something breaking lol. Even at the nalm with a drag race and dyno event, I only dyno'd just because 'what if' something horrible happens, then i'm stuck with a big tow bill to impress some online people? Nah. But taking pics at a nice location? much easier and safer for the group. It sucks we're getting old and sitting is more fun ![]()

Exactly what I was getting at. You're 100% right, this is why it's important to make the meets friendly enough for the younger crowd, that likely might have some more automotive connections to get new parts made. Not hating on all the OG's but there aren't a ton of People actually advancing much, there have been a few great advancements recently, including you trying to figure out stuff and Tyler aswell. Creating nice aluminum radiators really helps. I think what we need is people to start ponying up a bit of money to keep these cars going, not a big ask so that we can get transmission parts, And suspension parts made up for the community. Sitting around in parking lots is fine but the amount that we have done over the recent years is definitely excessive. I will also add. I was very surprised to see the off-roading drive so to speak last year. If the Legends can do that you can do it. Some kind of track event I think. Not saying the Legends are up to date or capable of doing off-road driving. They're definitely pavement princesses with the scarcity of parts lol. Last edited by Avery; 05-04-2025 at 11:08 AM. |

There are multiple reasons why holding a track day event would be very challenging and make it unlikely to occur. As a person that's tracked cars over the past 20 yrs it would be a logistical and costly nightmare to incorporate a track day for NALM. We're not like NSXCA group.
Just off the top of my head: 1. Renting a track is very expensive (Registration fees would skyrocket) 2. I highly doubt a majority of our cars would pass tech inspection to be allowed on the track. At most they would let us take a parade lap which would be boring and not worth it 3. Assuming owners pass tech inspection, the majority of our group I'm betting has never done an HPDE event which means we would have to find teachers that ride passenger per a lot of track insurance policies 4. Owners would have to purchase special track day insurance on top of their current policies because normal policies don't cover track "events". Doubt many owners would enjoy that cost. 5. You need a helmet to be on track 6. You need to have a drivers class (how to do point bys, course etiquette, etc.) which would add cost and time I could go on and on. Sorry, but it's very unlikely to happen from my point of view. But maybe you guys can host an event and make it happen! And, that off road section last year was unintentional. It was a GPS error.
