I bought this amp of eay for my setup to run to components up front.. I was just lookin at these specs and it says its 2 ohm stereo and 4 ohm mono.http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/S...d/0/rid/123284

thats more like a sub amp, yes you bought the wrong one. I mean technically you can use it but it can only control the front speakers and not the rear. If thats what your plan was

No that amp is suitable for, what I assume is, your intention. It's two channel specifically for your front stage right? you had no intention of running the rear speakers with that amp? If so, you're fine. Tweeters are typically 6-8ohm drivers, sometimes they are 4, but their impedence is nominal when you have to run the signal through a passive crossover which comes with them, so you can literally disregard the Tweeter's Impedance when buying an amp. so a component set Plus that Amp would work just fine...100W RMS is pretty substantial though, so i hope those Bostons can handle that. |
