Throttle Body Boring
Several times in my internet travels, I have come across Maxbore, the shop that bores out throttle bodies and fits them with new throttle blades. Now, first of all, is this a "supporting mod" that you really wouldn't notice unless you have some other modifications (ie. headers, cold-air, exhaust, etc.)? Seconds, would the throttle body gasket need to be modified and the intake manifold ported?

well the gasket dose need to be cut open a bit to match the new port. Also with the intake mani as well.

bigger throttle body alone wont net you any gains.

The bigger TB needs to compliment other improvements in flow through the engine. At minimum, headers and a freer flowing exhaust coupled with the larger TB (in addition to a port matched intake and TB spacer) will be most likely to show you gains. Even better yet would be a port and polish to the heads and maybe even a mild cam grind (ps - nobody that I know of has any special cams on their G1 nor do any companies make them). Btw, here is how much material you'll need to remove on the intake to match it with a 65.5mm TB: |

I have a CAI and I'm planning OBX headers and catalytic converter delete and lightweight flywheel down the road and possibly porting and polishing a stock intake manifold.

I would do a port and polish of the heads and get cams reground but this is my daily driver so I don't want to have it down for more than a couple days. Plus the cams would most likely require a standalone engine management, which is an expense I don't want.

Ooookay. The c27a4 intake swap sounds interesting except I can't get a clear idea on what is necessary to do the swap. Either that or just remove all the butterflies out of mine and have the shaft holes welded up.

You need all the intake things off the C27a4 and you have to fab up some new fuel injector mounts.
