Why Can't I Sell my Legend?
I tried to put my Legend up for sale, however, I was prevented because I am a new member so I have to wait until I have 50 posts or am a member for 6 months. What if I have nothing else to say about Acura cars period? This car has been nothing but a nightmare for me and I need to sell it ASAP. I want nothing else to do with it.
I live in a small rural Texas farming town and this car can't survive dirt roads. It was acquired in California and the previous owner lower the suspension. I did not know this about the car since it was my sister who purchased it first. My son purchased it from her, and now it's in my name. I also am disabled and live on a fixed income and can't afford the advertising it would take to sell this car. So what else can I do? I'm not trying to make the rule change. But I do think it's a stupid rule. I have a car for sale, you have a place where I can sell it, but I can't because of your rule. |

Now as Blake above has mentioned you can place the vehicle on Facebook Marketplace for a MUCH WIDER viewership of the car. Those of us who do frequently check this forum are VERY AWARE of the pros and cons of these THIRTY YEAR OLD cars that have very little support from parts manufacturers and almost NO SUPPORT from the very company that made them three decades ago (Acura ). I hate to hear that you have a car that doesn't suit your needs and I hope that it is in good enough condition to go to a good home. My LAST recommendation for your future endeavors is that you employ a less aggressive countenance when visiting forums that you are not familiar with the people in it. The adage "you can catch more flies with honey than with vinegar" would be appropriate in this case. One doesn't HAVE to hit "enter" about their thoughts when typing things on a keyboard. Depending on where you are in Texas one of the fellas might just come and take a look at the car and in many cases the good ones we chat about amongst ourselves. I've personally looked at a number of these cars for people across the country and make an honest assessment of them for ones who are interested. So if Blake turns out to be close enough to look at the car be courteous and gracious to him. He's a GOOD GUY and well respected amongst our close knit Legent enthusiast community. I hope you have a better day.

Well said. I recently sold my coupe and when I decided to go with "locals" only, my car sold quickly.

Wait, Kevin you sold your car? I had no idea. I must be living under a rock. Or was it sold through the "Facebook universe"?

He kept it REALLY QUIET! He let that cat out to me about two weeks ago. He actually sold it not long after getting back from NALM. I think he put the sale date in his signature. I've already taken a look at a locally kept Facebook Marketplace Legend sedan for him that is low mileage (90 something thousand miles) and is pretty much ALL original. I told him that car appeared to be exactly as advertised. The biggest issue with it I think is that it is only an "L" trim. The driver's seat leather reminded me of those old Lincoln and Cadillac leather seats. Just as soft and supple as could be.

I would like to thank several people that helped me with the sale as well as my eyes in the field for my replacement Legend. Tyson was a big help with the initial for sale post. I then went the FB route and a whole bunch of shizzity broke out regarding the car. I never imagined my 354,000 mile six speed coupe would garner so much interest. I had close to 90 hits on the FB post. And a big thank you for Chaka for doing recon near his hometown of Birmingham on a car that was good, but I wasn't about to give up some of the equipment I had on my coupe.

Hey that's what we do for the community especially those who are more than happy to do a solid favor for other Legend enthusiasts.
