Time to Say Goodbye

As the title says, I do indeed have some good and bad news; I'll try and keep this simple. Due to an unfortunate event right before christmas involving the Legend, I needed to start looking for a new car. Some careless guy decided not to look where he was going in a parkinglot and backed into the side of it. Its 100% driveable, but I decided that im not going to fix it and its time for a newer replacement. Before i get 6000 pms... NO i am NOT parting the Legend out, it has other plans already set for it. Any parts i do have for sale will be listed in a week or so when i clean out my garage.

I've been a part of this commnunity for just about 4 years now and i must say its been one hell of an experience. I have meet and made friends with some truely awesome people and enthusiasts, had some unforgettable experiences, and made some life long friends. This place truely is one big "legend family"

Ok, enough of the sad stuff... moving on. As you probably could tell, the legends replacement is, well, not a legend. It was time to upgrade and get something newer and more reliable for a daily. So... I took this home saturday (im sorry for the cellphone pics, i haven't had time to get some nice ones yet.):





Yes, its 2006 6spd TL with Navi, and after driving the car for a few days now i can already tell i will not totally regret this decision; i really am starting to like this thing. However, the legend does and will always have a very special place in my heart; and when the day comes that i actually have to watch it go, it will be a sad one. Moving on, i definately will be sticking around here and pop in from time to time; this place and its members are like family to me. It seems like every year around this time a lot of members lose their legends due to similar events, and this year sadly is no exception. I just didnt think i would be one of them. Anyway, ill try and get some better pix of the TL for those that request them as well as pull out the Rare legend goodies i have stashed away so i can share what i can with a community that has given me back so much.

I'm glad you found a very nice albeit uninspiring car to replace your legend tom.

I'm 1/2 way hackin' I can understand though.

I hear those cars are a lot of fun... I've only rented an Auto version of that model.

Tom, sorry to see you step out of the Legend community but you made a good decision on your next car. You'll look great in it! The ladies will love you! Maybe you can show your handsome face at NALM each year, lol Bye Ze Nurse!

Tom, sorry for your loss ... but happy with your gain. I still have my sedan, but got an '08 TL and love it. After switching out the suspension for ASpec and buying a Progress RSB, it is quite the handler. Oh, and a LOT better gas mileage. You'll enjoy yours.

Thanks Chris. I would have loved to keep the legend but its just not practical to fix it and finding a replacement would be too hard and im just not able to start a new build and transfer everything over.

Thanks Rich. The TL may not be a Legend but it is the newest, closest, and most equivalent replacement. And, fun doesnt cover it this thing is awesome. In 6spd trim it is an absolute monster even compared to my 3.5 hybrid.

Thanks Penny. I am sad about stepping out of a legend too but it had to be done. I am really starting to like the TL though, it is great fun to drive. I will definately try to come out to nalm each year legend or no legend. you guys are like family and it is worth the trip to come meet up with you.

Thanks man, i have enjoyed driving the tl so far and i dont see me getting dissapointed with it anytime soon. I would like to put either the aspec or a tien ss coilover setup on it in the near future. Having a stiff suspension is one thing i miss having in this car that i had in the legend. And the Gas mileage increase is insane. I love getting 30mpg highway without having to drive like a grandmother.

Thanks Vic. I will definately be sticking around; and dont worry, ill be sure to make a TL build thread for everyone to enjoy. I have an idea of the direction i want to go with it and the aftermarket support for the car is very good with lots of goodies to lighten my wallet.

Sorry to hear about the nut doing in the Legend Tom. hgeez: I was close (very close) to getting an A-spec TL when I bought my last car but all the ones I was interested in disappeared literally within 3 days. They are nice cars but of course I'm quite partial to my Legend.

I love that they put Brembo's on the 6MT.....Now get those Aspec's on there brother. That Anthricite is just screaming for Aspecs. I wonder where you're gonna find a set of Aspec wheels:dunno:
