Hello to all! Just wanted to stop in and get some feedback. I just got an 88 legend for my daughter. I have invested 0$ so far. Is this going to be a good car for her or a headache for me?? It has about 200,000mi on it. Seems to run pretty darn well for as old as it is. It's an automatic with the sportshift option?? Anything I should know as far as what to watch out for on repairs? Any words of encouragement or uh oh's are appreciated. I will be around here for a while, Seems like the place to find helpful, friendly people!

Welcome. G1 legends are cool. I bought a 89 ls coupe in albany or. about six years ago. Great car w/ good mpg leather moonroof and few mods run very good.

welcome.. car's fairly easy to maintain. until something breaks. ;] it's an old car. only part that gave me a hard time was the crank sensor, but it was just a hassle more than anything. the rest is pretty easy to get to or fix, cept a few cases. vacuum's fun figuring out, but once you get it down you'll remember it.

Mine has yet to break down. It's expensive to fix, but it is very long-lived, rarely needs fixing. My advice: Find a junkyard near you for cheap replacement parts. And you can always ask around the forum if you need anything. A number of people here go junkyard-diving as a community service, asking barely above mere shipping costs to give you parts.
The engine can take a real beating. Just ask Pnoye2!
