Oil Pump - Which Brand?
I'm getting ready to install the timing belt kit I've had since 2011.
In addition to the belt, I need to address the oil filter adapter leak. The oil pan needs to be replaced because of the stripped drain plug hole (I have an OEM Honda part that's been sitting on the shelf for years). If I'm going to go this far, I figured I might as well re-seal the oil pump. The oil pump still puts out pressure well within service specs (who knows about output volume) so I'm leaning towards just new seals and re-installing it. Just curious; who was the OEM manufacturer of the oil pump (I know OEM is NLA)? If I do decide to replace it, should I go with Melling, Sealed Power (current availablity at RA)? It's always had seepage at the cam sprocket end (most likely the cam bearing cap/girdle FIPG is bad). So cam seals and resealing the bearing cap/girdle is in the plan as well. Thanks for any input on the new oil pump.
