So I quit my job last night (since I got the new one) but I promised I would finish up to the weekend....well driving along....I came to a stop and got a MINOR surge in rpms.....then car stalled. Fired right back up and promptly stalled again.....checked vac lines...they are fine, no cracks, etc.....things seem to be getting lil by lil worse as I go along here (thank god I am basically gonna park my car).... Other things I KNOW I need VSS? Lil deal coming out of the trans??? speedo cable thingy? and also lately.....VERY VERY hard starting...like non existent....it clicks and I gotta pray it will catch and then it fires along most times trouble free for the day...occasionally it might tsake a while to start...and for the first time it SOUNDED like it was weak battery (checked...I got 14.4 volts coming thru...so I know battery is fine, alt is cgarging perfectly...etc....) I have done the basic checks....I think I miht need to solder the main relay (Bandoni suggested this also) as it clicks (sounds like starter to me clunk/click....but oh well...I will do the main relay and hope that helps alot....got a new job starting on monday so need car to get me there ya know?) thsnks for the help fellas....I have to go out so TEXT me some ideas 480-254-1352 Jim |

^ plus one on this ...although I'd go a few steps beyond; a FULL tune-up sounds like in order! I'd also do what was previously recommended about the main relay. Goodluck Jimmy!

You also might want to check the ECU for any codes.

but t just clicks sometimes in the morning and then runs fine thru the day???? This morning however...started fine, stopped at a store....then wouldnt start...meaning it didnt really do anything...the stereo and all came on.....but no start....then key off and back on...and it was fine. I plan on full tune up here in next few weeks (remember...year and a half off....worked then a month off due to wreck...now start a new job...can only do so much...top it off...I am looking/moving into a new place...all terrible timing...well some of it is...least I got a great new job) Its just odd.... |

Ya, it sounds like the main relay. Have at it with the soldering iron.
