RIP Fut

If I were to ever start another group buy I would've contacted him for some tips to do it the proper way since he knew what he was doing.

Hey guys, just getting a chance to post.

Lots of calls and text messages today in which many of you have shared my same sentiments about the loss of this great friend and brother of ours.

Lou had sent me a text this morning asking me to reach out if I had Fut's number. I have only one phone number for Fut, and I was pretty sure it was current because had had asked me a question about TL-S wheels not long ago. Branson and I were already on the road to Los Angeles for the S2K event which is tomorrow. I wasn't sure how to frame the conversation (if, by chance, Fut picked up the phone). I decided I would tell him that I was on my way to LA for the event at Honda and wanted to meet up. But, after two rings, a female answered. I fumbled for words...

Me: Hi - my name's Tyson - is this Dannie's phone?
Her: Yes - this is his sister
Me: Okay - I'm a friend of his from the Acura Legend club. I had been asked by a mutual friend of ours to check in this morning because he'd heard something... (thankfully, she cut me off here)
Her: Yes, he passed away last night...

From there we talked for just a couple of minutes. I told her I'd met Fut on a number of occasions at Legend gatherings over the years and I was deeply saddened for the loss. She had to attend to another phone call so we had to hang up but she promised to call me back. About 15 minutes later, she did call me back.

Again she could not talk very long but she did say that yes, Fut went through a series of chemotherapy treatments and ultimately fell victim to the cancer he had battled for quite some time now. I told her of the great respect and admiration that Fut has from each member of our Legend community. I told her how he had organized countless group buys and that I had personally dealt with him on some transactions. "He sold parts to you guys?" she asked. She honestly had no idea of his impact and influence. I told her that Fut's passing would hit very close to home for our very tight knit community.

She anticipates that services will not be for another 7-10 days as there is a lot to attend to. I had her take down my email and make sure she noted my phone number so that she can let me know when these details are set up.

I will stay close to my email inbox and make sure to let you know as soon as I hear further updates. If I haven't heard back in the next 24-36 hours I may try with a follow-up call. I just don't want to be a bother because I know Fut's family is probably being flooded with people reaching out right now.

I miss Fut. I know his spirit will live on among us.

RIP FUT

Never spoke to him, never met him. Just talked to him thru the forum. I can tell he made an impact in society and everyone that met him. I'm glad he's in a better place and honestly (right now) glad I never met him so I don't have to feel pain.

This might be a greedy thing to say on my part, but I will miss the group buys and exclusive parts he brought to us. No one can do it like he did and our community won't be the same.

I can't believe I'm actually reading this... horrible fuckin' news.

I never got a chance to meet him in person but had spoken with him on the phone and on the forums of course and yes he was a cool dude. I admired what he did for this community and respected his down to earth spirit.

Hella fuckin' cool cat... even though I wasn't anywhere as close to him as some of you were I'm gonna miss seeing him post up around here. I was looking forward to someday making it to a meet and getting the chance to meet him and some of you other peeps. I'm satisfied just having gotten the chance to speak and deal with him, that in its own was a pleasure and more than enough.

God bless you brutha and thanks again for everything...

One.

Only had one conversation with him a couple weeks ago about the shifter and strut bar, but he seemed like a stand up guy, I had been wondering what he would bring to the forum next and looked forward to dealing with him again.

R.I.P. Fut
