Exhaust Gasket Compatibility

It looks like the starter on my 1999 Acura RL is dying, so I'm looking at replacing it this weekend. I have a stash of Legend parts, including the cat converter-to-y-pipe exhaust gasket (18229-SP0-003). Is this gasket compatible with the RL (18229-SZ5-003)? Dealer wants $56 �� The other exhaust gaskets and nuts share the same part numbers.

you don't need to remove the exhaust at all to do the starter. the bolt is very excessible with the exhaust in place. you'll need to pop the axle out of the oil pan, you don't need to remove it from the knuckle. i usually undo the upper ball joint and pull the axle out of the oil pan intermediate shaft, and let it hang out to the side, pull starter out. done.

Hmm, ok. If I have to remove starter, I'll give that a try. Hopefully, it's just as simple on the RL. I noticed the service manual procedures for replacing the starter on the RL have quite a few more steps than those for the Legend.
