Default '86 legend need input

I have a 1986 legend in pretty good condition but it is time to clear my yard any thoughts on what an oldie may be worth? or suggestions on what to do with it. It only has 138 K miles on it. never wrecked beyond a scratch on the front bumper and a ding were a golf bag fell over on rear quarter panel.

Parting out would be your best bet IMHO.

Unfortunately, these cars just don't sell for much. I'm going to be asking $2500 for mine when I sell it this spring but it comes with quite a few aftermarket parts and rare OEM/JDM parts.

The mileage is very low which is a plus. If it's been well maintained that also helps.

To me the condition of the body and interior is the most important issue. If that's all good
then mechanical issues can be fixed.

Unless it's been done recently usually all the belts and hoses need to be replaced, including the timing belt.

IMHO It's worth more to your KARMA, or soul and place in the universe to sell it at a 1986 used Honda price. What's a 1986 Accord worth? ... then add maybe $50. Clean it up and sell it as an old Honda to some parent of a young person that values dependability and crash-protection in their kid's first car. Do the right thing and gratitude and grace will follow. Place ad for $700 and accept 5.

^ Not if you're trying to clean up the yard. You don't want to have a ghetto look while you make $25 every other month randomly.... if even that. There just aren't that many takers.

GL and post pix ... even the 86 looked good

I thought it would be an ok car for a kid but it likely would not be safe enough for the parents...no abs no air bags its a small accident away from a serious injury. And I am not able to dismantle it part by part due to physical limitations. Hey it works fine for picking up my mother-in-law and her wheelchair so I better keep it. besides in two more years its a antique automobile in NC

There you go.. That sounds like a good plan.. Would rather see a Legend on the road, than in a part yard, unless it goes to fixing multiple Legends which it sounds like your unable to do by parting it out.. And it's an 86', First year, so that's all the more reason to keep it running down the road

Thats how i got my 87. I would like to think that karma is treating the former owner nicely. It sure has been a life saver for me.

The sad part is, he'd probably get $1500-$2000 easy in Southern California. For some reason, folks around here seem to think that old Hondas and Toyotas are immortal and walk on water (or drive as it were).

I dare you to search Southern California CL sometime for 80s and 90s Japanese cars.

Make sure you are sitting down when you do.

Here's an 88 for nearly $5K. I think that's probably an upper limit and depends
on condition.
