Is it possible to swap a transmission out on my own no help with only ramps and/or jackstands?? I know anything is possible bla bla bla but seriously. I will be doing my differential this weekend so ill be getting prepped. I'm pretty mechanically inclined and all but can you physically remove the transmission from a ramp without messing with the engine?

I did it, but you need to get that nose up high! Also will need to lift the back once the tranny is down so you can slide it out.

I would doubt you could have enough clearance to lower the trans and clear the engine/frame. Perhaps you can measure the height of your car on the ramps and compare that to the trans...if it can be done, I'd like to know. |

Ummm, I did it in my garage. Had it up on four 2 ton jack stands. The front stands with six inches of wood under them. The rears on the garage floor.

Six inches of wood under the front jack stands sounds dangerous. Did you have other supports? How long did it take you to swap out the tranny?
