Hey Fellow Legenders

Well since a couple or a few years back (cant remeber when) the Ac started to not get cold anymore. its slowly been getting bad and today decided to get a call out Ac guy to have a check and a lookover to see how much its gonna cost.

I Didnt Want to Wake up and him tell me its going to cost $1800+ (AUS $$) to fix. Thats just ruined my day now.
Aparently the A/c pump has had it and is leaking and not working properly, also there are some other seal leaks.

Now im decided wiether to fix it but i dont have he funds for it.
anyone know the Model number of The AC pump as hes not sure if there still avalible and if there not if there are even parts to recondition the unit i have.

i also thought of a second hand one from the wreckers but its kinda the same thing that one could be nackered to but i could get lucky.

So right now im going to try and save up and realy decided if this is what i really wanna do. I dont plan on sell the car but iv got a whole heap of things running through my head on what to do at the moment.

Anyways just need to rant.

thats what i do hahaha
but its just starting summer here in australia so i kinda need aircon to be comfortable but yeh dont have the funds so thats what im gonna have to do haha

yea go for the polish AC (roll ur windows down) hahaha maybe someone here can find one for u cheaper. (maybe shipping will rape u thou)

I'd start by getting a second quote.
Take it into a place that only do A/C or who specialise in it. I don't trust mobile mechanics.
I just had gas put in my G2 for about $165. He advised that the compressor will need replacing 'soon' and that I could be looking at $600+ which didn't seem to bad to me.
Personally I think they should be able to do it for less than $800 assuming there are no leaks in the cabin and the condensor is ok.

Yeh was thinging that but yeh shipping would be a killer.

Yeh, well the guy said it would cost around $200 if there was nothing wrong with the system.
But yeh might get some second opinions even though this guy is fairly good as he deals with who our mechanic which works on our cars.

If you need a new/rebuild compressor, I've seen a couple of them on ebay that people are selling. Might want to check that out.

Yeh, but i dont know what im doing (Yet) so best leave it to people who know what there doing so i dont stuff anything up.

Well, i dunno i might just start saving and get prices around from other shops.

The other alternative is to buy this :

and then pay all the importing charges and whatnot. would come out with a pretty good buy if i say so myself and its JDM Why is japan so cheap with there cars im so temped on a G2 on there for $775 AUD with 83000kms plus it cost $2000 it ship it to australia. WHY ???
