Default Hood Shocks

Does anyone know how to remove the #10 bolt and metal ball that screws into the side wall from the shocks? The new shocks didnt come with it so i have to remove it from the old one and put in on the new one.

there's a pin that remove that will make the ball detach.

Where did you order your hood shocks from? How much did they cost?

I want OEM. The hood struts I had just went out completely on me so I just removed the whole hood temporarily. In short. Could Someone tell me where to get some better quality used ones from?

BTW: Show me some pics of the old ones and the new ones..

you cab grab new ones on ebay for under 40 shipped, that's where I purchased mine. IMO they work better than the OE ones. I will see if I can find the sellers name for you all. The sellers name is: partsavenue.

I got hood struts from StrongArm and Amazon, $19.28 each ($38.56 for 2) + free shipping since it's over $25. Came with a new ball or whatever....easy breezy install

StrongArm 4306 Acura Legend Hood Lift Support 1991-95, Pack of 1

works better than this! lol

Orielly's autoparts - mighty lift shocks about $23 each i think. They are nice and stiff take a little force to close it now. Btw the old shocks that were on there had the ball sealed in, there werent any pins or something to release it, or maybe I just totally missed it. So i use a 1 lb sledge and a large screw driver on it lol.

Angry

I've destroyed 1 screw driver and 1 10mm combo wrench trying to get the ball stud out. Wish I had a grinder. Success with a hack saw!
