Default Just a quick Question for the Legend Heads....

Ok So my battery has a crack and is seeping out fluid all over my terminals, eating thru wiring etc...

A friend Gave me a new battery but I noticed its smaller then the legends but was in A jeep Liberty SUV before, Do you think Ill have problems with it???
DOES SIZE REALLY MATTER?>???(lol when it comes to batteries that is)

Hard to say. One thing we know is that the Legend is power hungry. It can consume electricity a lot faster than the Jeep, most likely. If my car was an automatic, I'd not skimp on a battery for long. Keep jumper cables with you.

no size doesn't matter as long as the polarity of the battery posts is the same and that the battery puts out a sufficient CCA number and that it fits and can be secured in the battery tray.

This.

The key measurement here is CCA (cold cranking amps) which is how much juice the battery can deliver to start the car. As long as you're close to what the Legend requires, odds are you'll be fine (given the rest of your charging system is in good shape, that is)

I ran an undersized battery for years with little trouble.

My wife's coupe is running a smaller battery with no problems. I think the stock CCA is 630????? Hers is putting out 550 with no problems. It even sat all winter and started right up the other day.

The previous owner took it to walmart and they cut the cables really short and put their own clamps on it so only little batteries will fit. hgeez:
