Default Radiator fan control sensor

Is it necessary to stick with OEM when replacing this sensor? If not, anyone know of a good aftermarket replacement?

In the past Ive used aftermarket radiator fan switches from rockauto.com never had a problem with them failing premature or anything nor have I had fitment problems. Think I paid like $15 shipped. Think they are listed in the electrical section. You'll probably be able to get them from a local autoparts store too.

Do you remember which one you ordered? I'm guessing it was the BECK/ARNLEY

PS, I also use a high temp thread sealer tape on those. It's not really necessary, but I use it to seal the radiator. Some sensors come with a lil piece of thread tape, others dont.

Pretty sure it was the Beck Arnley. Make sure you get the "in radiator" one, thats for the fans.

There are 2 others, one for the gauge located on the upper radiator hose passage near the bleeder screw, and the other one is a temp sensor located on the pass side of the intake manifold near the lower coolant hose passage and thermostat.
