Default Need Advice for Dimmer / Illumination Controller

90 Sedan 5MT, with a persistent problem of faulty dimmer/illumination controller, which kaputs both dash and tail lights, as some of you know.

I am simply unable to find a replacement anywhere. What can I do?

I occasionally see these on ebay. I usually buy all of them if the seller has bundled them. I bought a broken IP shroud in order to get the last set of switches.

I have one from my 1987 coupe available. Not sure if they are the same.

Just a thought...have you tried cleaning it? I don't like spraying chemicals into switches but this may help. There is special cleaner/sprays for switches that won't attack plastic. Some of them have lube in them (some Radio Shack products) which attracts grime so use it sparingly if you go this route.

Mine has dead spots in it when I turn the knob. I just twist the knob back and forth and it clears up the problem, temporarily.
