Default 5-speed clutch/flywheel, 6-speed transmission

I've decided to replace the dual-mass clutch in my '95 6-speed GS with a Spec Stage II 5-speed clutch. I've already located a 5-speed flywheel. So far, the only additional parts I've been able to ascertain are the flywheel bolts. My mechanic, despite his years of experience, has never done such a job before, and while he's willing to to it, he's reluctant to believe that the flywheel bolts are the only obstacle. He insists that I supply him with all the necessary parts so the job can be done all at once, uninterrupted. I'm not even an amateur mechanic, but I have to admit that I sympathize with his unease. Can anyone tell me what is necessary to do this job?

You will need a 5 speed clutch kit as well. The 6 speed clutch kit will only bolt up to the 6 speed flywheel, likewise with the 5 speed flywheel. The 5 speed flywheel bolts are a little shorter, you can use APR flywheel bolts for extra strength.

All you need is the 5spd flywheel, flywheel bolts, and a clutch kit (clutch disk, pressure plate, bearings)

A new.bearing is always recomenneded but they are the same. Same with the clutch fork. Clutch bolts are the same too.

Sounds like you are pretty much well set.

Default Spec Kit

I think I mentioned in my post that I was going to use the Spec Stage II 5-speed clutch. I assumed that "kit" was understood. That aside, thanks for reinforcing what I've read before. It's just that my mechanic insisted that I actually post a thread myself.

My bad, I read it as "Spec Stage II clutch", totally missed out that you specified the 5 speed part. hgeez: All this boring accounting reading I've been doing today has rendered my mind useless for more interesting topics haha

Wait..wait, the 5MT flywheel uses different bolts than the dual mass flywheel, they are much shorter, they are pricey bolts too, $5 each if I remember

My mechanic had the same misgivings and was pleasantly surprised.

I brought him the same materials that've already been suggested here:
5MT flywheel
5MT flywheel bolts
5MT clutch kit
